How to accept POL on Polygon

  1. Create a POL deposit address

    Send one request with the URL to notify and the EVM wallet that receives the money. The same callback URL always returns the same address.

  2. Show the address to your customer

    Display address_in, with a QR code from /polygon/pol/qrcode/ if you like. Your customer pays at least 0.5 POL; the address never expires and can be paid any number of times.

  3. Receive the funds and a signed callback

    After 64 confirmations (about 2 minutes), we forward the payment to your wallet and call your URL with pending=0, value_forwarded_coin, txid_out, coin=polygon_pol, signed in x-ca-signature. Answer *ok*.

Polygon PoS has negligible gas costs and a fast block time; payments wait 64 blocks before forwarding to stay safe from reorganisations.

For POL, the network cost of forwarding comes out of the payment itself: you receive the amount paid minus our fee and the gas of the forward.

What is the minimum POL on Polygon payment?

0.5 POL. A smaller payment is still recorded and shown in /logs/, but it is not forwarded, so that the network cost can never eat the payment.

How long until a POL on Polygon payment reaches my wallet?

We forward it once it has 64 confirmations on Polygon, which takes about 2 minutes on average, then send your server a signed callback with the forwarding transaction id.

Who pays the network fee for POL on Polygon?

The gas of the forwarding transaction is taken from the POL payment itself, so you never hold POL for fees.

Do I need an account to accept POL on Polygon?

No. There is no sign-up and no API key: one request to /polygon/pol/create/ with your callback URL and your EVM wallet returns a deposit address. Funds go straight to that wallet.
